Holly Jolly mittens are worked in the round using Magic Loop method from bottom up in 2×2 rib stitch and stockinette stitch.
You start by casting on the required number of stitches, then work in the 2×2 rib stitch. Then continue working the mittens in stockinette stitch while creating a hole for the thumb. Once you have reached the required height, you start shaping the top of the mittens by reducing stitches. Finally, you pick up the stitches and work the thumb. The stitches are closed using the Kitchener method.
