Nomi Cardigan is a soft, cozy cardigan made with three strands of mohair, giving it a fluffy texture and an exceptionally lightweight feel. Its classic, slightly fitted silhouette, button closure, and high turtleneck create a timeless design that you can wear in different ways — buttoned up to the neck or unbuttoned, with a softly draping collar.
Why you’ll love this pattern
Softness you’ll love: three strands of mohair create a fluffy, lightweight fabric.
Classic with character: a slightly fitted silhouette, buttons, and a high turtleneck create a simple, timeless design that needs no additional embellishments.
Two ways to wear it: button the cardigan up to the neck for a high turtleneck, or unbutton it and fold over the upper part to create a collar.
Nomi Cardigan is worked from the top down in rows, without sewing. The main section is worked in stockinette stitch, while the finishing details are worked in 1×1 ribbing.
You begin by working the back while shaping the sloping shoulders. Next, work the right and left fronts separately in rows. In the following step, join the fronts to the back, picking up additional stitches for the sleeves, and continue working all sections simultaneously while shaping the neckline. Once the neckline shaping is complete, continue working the back, fronts, and sleeves to the underarm.
Then separate the stitches for the body and sleeves and work them separately until they reach the required length.
The sleeves are shaped by decreasing stitches at the same time. Both the body and sleeves are finished with 1×1 ribbing.
Next, work the front plackets along the front edges in 1×1 ribbing.
Finally, work the turtleneck, joining it to the body using a seamless stitch-pickup technique. The turtleneck is worked in rows in 1×1 ribbing.
