The cardigan is worked top-down, seamlessly, partly in rows and partly in the round. It is based on raglan construction. You start by casting on stitches and then work in rows while simultaneously increasing stitches to shape the neckline, front, sleeves, and back of the cardigan. The vertical edge band is worked simultaneously with the main body of the cardigan. Then, the stitches are divided for the body and the sleeves. The body is worked flat in rows, while the sleeves are worked in the round. The sleeves have a straight , wide construction. The cardigan is finished with a 1×1 rib stitch. Finally, stitches are picked up for the collar, which is worked in 1×1 rib stitch in rows.
